Now Hiring: Event Prep Cooks – Private Events & Weddings (Chicago, IL)

Shift Type: Event-Based | Flexible Scheduling
Pay: $16.00 – $20.00/hr (based on experience & event type)

Indeed Flex is hiring Event Prep Cooks to support private events, weddings, corporate functions, and upscale gatherings throughout Chicago. These roles focus on behind-the-scenes food preparation to ensure smooth, high-quality service at elegant events and banquet-style functions.

This is a great opportunity for cooks who enjoy structured prep work and want flexible shifts in polished event environments.

Interview Requirement: Please arrive dressed in a proper kitchen uniform.

Job Requirements

• Valid Food Handler Certificate
• 6 months of prep cook or kitchen experience (catering or event experience a plus)
• Non-slip shoes and proper kitchen attire
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prep ingredients for private events, including weddings and corporate functions
• Chop, portion, and organize food items according to menus and recipes
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Label, store, and rotate ingredients properly
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and post-event cleanup as needed
