Our story – The story of Indeed Flex

Our business, formerly known as Syft, was born with a clear vision – to simplify and speed up the hiring process for both job seekers and employers, and connect them directly.

Our founders understood that job seekers needed greater flexibility and options from temporary jobs, and sought to build a platform that afforded them the control and choice to find work that met their needs. Meanwhile, employers needed instant connection with a marketplace of committed, quality workers available to undertake shifts.

Our mission to get people jobs instantly, drew the attention of the world’s leading job site, Indeed, and in 2019 we joined the family as Indeed Flex.

Our evolution – growth and adaptation

2015: The launch of Syft

Syft was built to offer a new way for job seekers and employers in the hospitality and events sector to connect. This was the dawn of a new era in temporary staffing – significantly speeding up the process by which job seekers could find the roles that suited them, and the process by which employers could find skilled, committed, and reliable workers.

2019: Joining the Indeed family

As Syft became bigger, employers and the wider staffing industry began to take notice of how the business was transforming the way people find work. Among those were Indeed, the world’s #1 job site, who acquired Syft in 2019, marking a pivotal moment in our journey.

We rebranded as Indeed Flex, expanding our reach and capabilities in bringing more jobs to more people, and more high-quality candidates to employers.

2020 and beyond: Expansion into new industries

We’ve since expanded beyond hospitality into new industries, including light industrial, retail, facilities, and clerical – growing our presence in multiple states across the US, with our headquarters in Austin, Texas.

No matter how much we grow, we’ll always remain committed to meeting the evolving needs of both job seekers and employers, across the ever-changing landscape of temporary work.
