Indeed Flex officially launches in the US as interest in seasonal work soars
Austin, TX, – The number of Americans taking on a temporary job to top up their income this holiday season has surged, according to a new analysis by Indeed Flex, the online marketplace for flexible and temporary workers.
The findings come as the Indeed Flex brand formally launches across the US with a multi-state advertising campaign.
Its research has found that interest in flexible work during the holiday season is soaring, with one in eight (12%) US adults already looking proactively for seasonal work, 14% planning to start looking soon and more than a quarter (28%) considering searching for temp work during the holiday season1.
Seasonal jobs in fast-moving sectors, including hospitality, retail, and logistics, are proving especially popular as Americans grapple with rapidly rising food prices and interest rates.
With US consumer inflation running at 8.3% a year2, Indeed Flex’s analysis reveals that a quarter (26%) of those planning to take up seasonal work this winter are doing so to top up their income. Another 18% say they want to do temporary work to earn extra money to buy holiday gifts for friends and family.
