Event Staff – Hiring now!

Note: This job is for Indeed Flex, but will take place at a client's worksite.

Be part of one of the most exciting days on the UT Austin calendar — Graduation! We're looking for reliable Event Staff to welcome graduates and their families, help enforce the clear bag policy, and keep parking moving smoothly across campus. This is an outdoor, team-based shift with a clear purpose: making graduation day seamless for thousands of Longhorn families.

Pay: $ 21/hr | Event shift — day of graduation

What You'll Do

• Welcome graduates and their families and inform them of complimentary parking and the University's clear bag policy
• Distribute clear bags to guests who need them to comply with venue requirements
• Keep traffic moving by directing guests to available parking lots and garages
• Assist with traffic and pedestrian flow between ceremonies — inside garages, surface lots, and at other posts assigned by supervisors

What You'll Need

• 18+ years of age
• Punctual, late arrivals will not be permitted to work; this is a non-negotiable requirement
• Full uniform at the start of your shift, incomplete uniform = no assignment
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Comfortable standing and working outdoors for an extended shift
• Ability to follow supervisor instructions and work as part of a team

Shift & Check-In Information

Your shift may end earlier than scheduled depending on demand levels.

Uniform

• Top: White polo or white t-shirt — must have sleeves. No cut-off sleeves, no crop tops. No logos, writing, or symbols of any kind.
• Bottom: Black or khaki shorts or pants. No blue jeans, no short shorts, no biker shorts. Shorts must hit mid-thigh or 3 inches above the knee.
• Footwear: Comfortable closed-toed tennis shoes (any color).

On-Site Policies

• Cell phones are not permitted while on duty. Phones must be put away and out of sight. No headphones or earbuds allowed.
• Tobacco-free campus. No smoking, chewing tobacco, or vaping anywhere on UT Austin grounds.
• Restroom breaks are self-managed — notify a coworker or supervisor before leaving your post and use the nearest available restroom. Your supervisor can direct you to the closest location.
• Formal breaks are not provided.
