What is Geofence?
Geofencing creates a virtual boundary around the venue location, ensuring accurate attendance records. You will be informed when you are within the boundary so that you can proceed to clock in and out. We will also let you know when you are out of bounds.
How does it work during clock-in?
If you are within the designated work area:
- Clock in as usual using your Indeed Flex app.
If you are out of range:
- You will be informed and shown a map view of both your location and the venue.
- Click on the map to open your default navigation app.
- In the Flex app, click 'Refresh Location' to update your position on the map
After refreshing your location:
- If you are now within range, you will be clocked in.
- If you are still out of range, please move closer to the venue and refresh again. If you are at the venue, but the app still says you’re out of range, please follow the steps outlined below.
Can I clock in outside the Fence?
Flexers are expected to clock in from the designated worksite for their shifts. If you experience an issue with the geofence, you will be able to clock in outside the geofence as described below. All clock ins outside the geofence for the shift worksite will be subject to review and approval by Indeed Flex.
I am at the venue but the app says I am out of range. What should I do?
If you believe you are at the venue but the app indicates otherwise, please refresh your location in the app to update your position. If the problem persists, follow the in-app prompts for further instructions. Your clock-in time will be reviewed internally before approval.
If the problem persists, please contact support via the chat feature in the app, and indicate that you are having trouble clocking in.
How does it work during clock out?
If you are within the designated range, you will clock out as usual using your Flex app. If you are already out of the designated area, follow the instructions shown on the app.
